AVON, CT — A new, upscale barber shop concept is coming to Avon later this year or early next year, and it promises to do for men what beauty salons/spas do for women.
Hammer & Nails recently announced that resident Rod Williams will bring the first location of Hammer & Nails to the region with the opening of a shop in Avon.
It is scheduled to open at the end of 2025/early 2026.
Currently, there are similar grooming shops in Westport, Darien, Fairfield, Greenwich and Stamford, with Avon’s shop slated to become Connecticut’s sixth
According to a release by the company, Williams has decades of experience running operations and leading teams.
The company said he was attracted to the Hammer & Nails business after visiting one of the shops in Westport, where he and his friends received a personalized tour from the shop’s general manager.
“My first visit to Hammer & Nails was a unique and special experience,” said Williams. “I love self-care and I love entrepreneurship, so combining my passion in these two areas by opening a Hammer & Nails location in a nearby community is a dream come true.”
Williams said he wanted to join what he said was a “growing industry.”
“I was drawn to the fact that Hammer & Nails is part of a growing industry,” said Williams. “Self-care and grooming are booming. Plus, Hammer & Nails has experienced leadership both at the regional and corporate level that has an identified path to growth and cultivating membership.”
Hammer & Nails lays claim to being “the nation’s first luxury grooming lounge with more than 50 shops in the United States and rapidly growing.”
“Using only high-quality, non-toxic products for all of its services, it’s a one-stop shop that provides the total man’s grooming experience with haircuts, skin care, shaves, beard grooming, hand/foot care, and more,” reads a company announcement.
